ENF collected information through telephone contacts with each ingot and wafer manufacturer in this market (including follow-up emails and faxes when requested). Aside from phone calls, ENF collected 38 companies’ data through face-to-face visits.

Data Checks were performed using our previous reports and external data sources as references. In addition further information on equipment and material details was gathered from direct contact with 54 equipment and 45 materials manufacturers supplying to the China region. This cooperation gave us direct access to customer lists with which we could further fill out missing equipment data that manufacturers were unwilling to disclose.

For those companies that gave partial information, estimates have been made for the missing information based on information given by 3rd parties, logical conclusions (e.g. According to how many pieces of wafers can be produced from 1kg ingots, we can estimate the ingot production from given wafer production.) and market trends from other Chinese survey participants.
