ENF collected company data through telephone interviews with each manufacturer (including follow-up emails and faxes when requested). After collection of the data, each company was emailed their detailed information in Excel format, to check that all facts were recorded properly.

Data Checks were performed using external data sources as reference. For those companies that gave partial information, estimates have been made for the missing information based on information given by 3rd parties, logical conclusions (such as manufactured cell sizes based on the cell sizes used in their panel production) and market trends from other European survey participants.
