Delta Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. supplied two 1MW DelCEN1000 central inverters to India's floating solar power project developed by the Greater Visakhapatnam Smart City Corporation Limited.
Work on the clean energy project began in April 2018, in September GVSCCL commissioned it to generate approximately 3,100,000 power units per year. This reduces around 28,000 tons of CO2, equal to saving 131,000 trees, every year. In addition, the project reduces 20% of water evaporation to protect the area's rich flora and fauna. In all, this project costs around 120 million Rupees ($1.71 million) and saves 18,600,000 Rupees in electricity costs per year.
