Juwi Renewable Energy Pty Ltd has signed an EPC contract with Bright Energy Investments to deliver the 37MWdc Solar Power project at Greenough River in Western Australia.

"We look forward to working with Bright Energy Investments to deliver the Greenough River solar project. For Juwi this project represents a significant milestone in Australia building upon our success in the off-grid market where we have already delivered the Sandfire-Degrussa solar project and are currently finalizing the delivery of two further projects located at Heron Island in Queensland and the Agnew Gold Mine in Western Australia." commented Cameron Garnsworthy, Managing Director of Juwi Australia.

Once completed, the plant is expected to provide the energy needs for around 16,300 typical Western Australian households.

Valerie Speth, Juwi's Regional Director for the Asia Pacific Region, comments: "We are delighted to start construction of the Greenough River project and so further expand Juwi's footprint into the Australian on-grid market. Juwi has now delivered almost 5GW of renewable energy capacity globally with over 700MW of utility renewable projects currently under construction and we are seeking to leverage this local and international experience to deliver the Greenough project with Bright Energy Investments."
