SolarCity® has expanded its services in Arizona with the launch of a new operations center in Prescott Valley, and a second operations center in Phoenix that will service large-scale commercial and homebuilder projects. The two new centers, which have already hired staff, have generated local jobs in Arizona and will enable even more Arizona residents and businesses to increase their savings by paying less for clean, solar electricity than they currently pay for utility power.

Leisa Brug, Energy Policy advisor to Arizona Governor Janice K. Brewer, is attending today's grand opening of the Prescott Valley operations center located in Dewey, Arizona.

"Arizona invests in sustainable energy alternatives as they directly impact the lives of our residents and the state's economy with the creation of jobs," said Brug. "We welcome SolarCity's expansion in the state, as it supports our goal of making Arizona the leader in solar power generation."

SolarCity first launched clean energy services in Arizona in 2008 and has rapidly expanded to five operations centers in the state with a workforce of more than 180 employees. In addition to the new Prescott Valley center, which will service residential and commercial solar customers, SolarCity this month opened a second operations center in south Phoenix dedicated to servicing its business and non-profit customers, and home builder partners.  The new center in Phoenix frees the existing center to focus on servicing local homeowners and small businesses.  SolarCity is currently hiring for more than 25 positions in Arizona, including 10 in Phoenix.

Arizona's solar energy production increased an astonishing 333 percent between 2010 and 2011, landing it in the third spot in the nation for the total number of photovoltaic (PV) installations.[1] SolarCity has contributed to the state's solar energy production by bringing affordable solar to hundreds of everyday homeowners, and facilitating large solar installations for businesses, schools and government organizations, including the City of Chandler, National Bank of Arizona, Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) and Soaring Heights Communities at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

"SolarCity is keeping up with the rising demand for affordable solar in Arizona without sacrificing on customer service," said SolarCity's Regional Vice President of Arizona, Albert Laird.  "The two new operations centers will help us better serve both existing and new customers in Arizona."
