May 12, 2014 - Trina Solar today announced that it has supplied modules for a new ground-mounted installation at the Knowlton Court estate near Canterbury, Kent.

The project, completed by vogt solar ltd, a fully-owned subsidiary of ib vogt GmbH, saw more than 46,000 individual Trina Solar modules used in the development of an 11.7MW array.

The Knowlton Court array was the latest in a series of vogt solar projects to use modules from Trina Solar modules, following installations completed in 2013 at West Farm in Pembrokeshire and Old Rides in Kent. ib vogt was therefore confident in the company's ability to deliver high-quality products and customer service, explained ib vogt Managing Director and CFO Carl von Braun:

"Our experience of working with Trina Solar on large-scale projects has been hugely positive. The high efficiency and excellent performance of the modules in all conditions enables us to achieve greater installed capacity and design projects in ways that are sensitive to their surroundings. In addition, we have been able to build a strong personal relationship with the people at Trina Solar based on their service and support," he said.

The modules used are a combination of Trina Solar’s TSM-PC05A 250W and 255W models, with a combined generation capacity of 11.7MW. These modules offer 15 per cent efficiency and excellent performance in low light conditions, and are also able to withstand snow and wind loads of up to 5,400Pa and 2,400Pa respectively.

Ben Hill, Head of Europe at Trina Solar, said: "With a number of potentially disruptive changes to market conditions in recent months, particularly the anti-dumping Undertaking and new waste processing compliance requirement for the PV industry, it is all the more important for manufacturers to demonstrate to provide high-quality products and services.

"Solar PV represents a substantial long-term investment, and as the playing field has been leveled out for manufacturers, installers and end users are looking for the best quality they can find. Trina Solar, with its track record of quality, innovation, and value-added services, is well placed to maintain its position as a reliable long-term partner. Trina Solar also takes very seriously its responsibility to make PV a more sustainable industry, and all modules are now fully compliant with WEEE recycling and disposal regulations," he continued.

Commenting on Trina Solar’s ongoing relationship with ib vogt, Hill added: "The selection of Trina Solar modules for this project is testimony to the manufacturing quality and customer service offered by Trina Solar, and a vindication of the effort that goes into developing modules that not only meet but greatly exceed international industry standards."
