Yingli Green Energy Brings Solar Energy to Arena Pernambuco
March 24, 2014 - Yingli Green Energy, known as "Yingli Solar", today announced that it has supplied 1MW of solar panels to Grupo Neoenergia. The panels will deliver clean electricity to Arena Pernambuco, the site of five 2014 FIFA World Cup™ matches. -

Dragonfly Solar and SolarWorld Partner to Develop 517kW Solar Farm
March 24, 2014 - Dragonfly Solar and SolarWorld will partner to deliver a 517-kilowatt solar array to four electric utility cooperatives in the U.S. Midwest. The project is the nation's first to be developed under a model of joint ownership among utility cooperatives, exemplifying how cooperatives can maximize their clean-power investment. -

First Solar, Shams Ma'an Consortium Secure 20-Year PPA for 52MW Jordan Project
March 18, 2014 - First Solar and Shams Ma'an Power Generation today announced the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a planned 52.5 megawatt (MWAC) solar power plant in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The PPA was signed with the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) and is valid for 20 years. -

Hanwha SolarOne Signs MOU with the Wuxi Administrative Committee to Develop 100MW PV Projects
March 20, 2014 - Hanwha SolarOne today announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding ("MOU") with the Wuxi New District Administrative Committee (the "Wuxi Administrative Committee") to establish a long-term strategic partnership to develop downstream PV projects. The Wuxi Administrative Committee will provide rooftop space, facilitate local government approvals and grid connection, as well as, aid with obtaining preferential tax treatment and project financing. As part of the strategic partnership, Hanwha SolarOne intends to own and operate 100MW of distributed generation projects in Wuxi New District. -

ABM Installing 2MW Solar Plant at Cornell University
March 19, 2014 - ABM announced today that ABM's energy business started construction on a 2MW solar array to be implemented on Cornell University's campus in Ithaca, NY, representing the Ivy League university's first large solar endeavor. ABM will provide Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services. ABM joint venture partner Building Energy will finance and own the solar power plant in partnership with Distributed Sun, LLC, who developed the project for Cornell. -

American Capital Energy Breaks Ground on 22MW Solar Projects in Massachusetts
March 20, 2014 - American Capital Energy, Inc. (ACE) has begun construction on nine solar projects totaling 22MW on Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard. Clean Focus Corporation (Clean Focus) financed and will own and operate the portfolio, which includes 19.5MW located on capped landfills. The projects will sell net-metering credits to several towns in the Cape & Vineyard Electric Cooperative (CVEC) and to the Town of Dennis under nine different 20 year agreements. The solar systems will generate 28,578 megawatt-hours of electricity in the first year of operation, the average amount of power used by 3,797 homes in Massachusetts. -

Hanwha SolarOne Supplies 6.2MW PV Modules to Guatemala
March 19, 2014 - Hanwha SolarOne today announced that it has completed a 6.2MW delivery of its high quality 72-cell solar modules (HSL72) to a consortium of the Spain-based companies Cobra and Gransolar. The modules will be installed in a new solar park in Rio Hondo, Las Cruces, Guatemala. -

SunEdison Completes 24MW Cascade Solar Power Plant
March 19, 2014 - SunEdison announced today that it has completed construction of a 24MW (megawatt) DC (direct current) solar power plant located in the California Desert. The Cascade solar power plant is supplying renewable electricity to San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) through a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Wells Fargo & Company provided tax equity financing following completion of the solar power plant. -

Suntech Singapore Fails to Pay the Judgment Debt Due to PSS
March 18, 2014 - Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. today announced that, following the January 27, 2014 judgment from the High Court of the Republic of Singapore ordering Suntech Power Investment Pte., Ltd. ("Suntech Singapore") to pay to Suntech's subsidiary, Power Solar System Co., Ltd. (in liquidation) ("PSS"), approximately US$263.9 million (the "Judgment Debt"), on February 20, 2014, the Liquidator of PSS issued a statutory demand against Suntech Singapore for the Judgment Debt. Suntech Singapore was required to repay the Judgment Debt by March 13, 2014, but it has failed to do so. Suntech Singapore is now deemed to be unable to pay its debts under the Singapore Companies Act. However, on March 12, 2014, Suntech Singapore filed an application to set aside the Judgment Debt. PSS is considering the application and will make further announcements as may be warranted.
