Ⅰ. Introduction: South Africa is quickly becoming a world leader in the use of photovoltaic technology in utility scale facilities to bolster power supply. This comes in response to the depletion of coal reserves, drive to be more environmentally friendly and the desire to have a guaranteed domestic long term energy resource. Solar power is rapidly becoming the go to solution under the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Programs (REIPPPs) program, especially PV solutions due to the reduction on panel cost by approx. 80% since 2009. Solar O&M South Africa will gather operations and maintenance specialists from EPC, and O&M service providers, solar facility owners, investment banks, international and local experts and technology providers. The aim is to create a professional platform for the solar O&M sector that will improve the quality and standard of the work for the benefit of the industry as well as importing fresh new ideas from the local market and other countries that may be facing similar challenges. Ⅱ. Why Attend: ● Learn about the latest technologies that protect and preserve the lives of generating units ● Network with solar investors, IPPs, EPCs and O&M solution providers ● Understand the latest options for cleaning PV panels and mirrors while minimising water use ● Hear the best practices and case studies from the South African O&M sector ● Gain a competitive advantage by showcasing your solutions Ⅲ. Highlights: ◆ Water and dust repelling coatings for solar panels and mirrors ◆ Lightening protection systems ◆ Better earthing systems for even the most resistant soils ◆ Mobile laboratories and testing facilities ◆ Latest technologies to test for micro cracks in PV panels ◆ Innovative drone use for thermography ◆ Automated monitoring systems and alarms for mobile use ◆ Preventative and reactive maintenance plans and strategies ◆ Air-cleaning for solar PV panels and mirrors ◆ Water use reduction in cleaning facilities
