AIKO has launched a new line of bifacial solar module products targeted towards utility applications.
The 'Stellar' series consists of dual-glass bifacial solar panels based on AIKO's n-type ABC (All Back Contact) technology. Modules in the product line have bifaciality of up to 70%, market-leading efficiencies ranging from 23.0% to 23.7%, and power ratings ranging from 620 W to 640 W.
A bifacial solar module captures sunlight on both sides of the panel. This boosts power output from a given area, enabling significant savings on mounting structures, cabling and labour, and resulting in an optimised levelised cost of energy (LCOE).
AIKO's new bifacial solar panels are designed to meet the different needs of ground-mounted and offshore or floating solar PV applications. The products include:
- The 'Polaris' for mountain and flatland. It addresses the irregular irradiation conditions due to limited land and complex terrains, thanks to the use of power optimisation technology for partial shading conditions.
- The 'Sirius' for mudflat and water surface. It incorporates innovative, high-resistance water encapsulation technology, anti-corrosion frames, and waterproof cap design. Its design overcomes the challenges posed by salt mist and high humidity, to ensure stable power generation and performance reliability while reducing cleaning frequency and O&M costs throughout the module's entire lifecycle.
As with AIKO's other solar module products, the newly launched bifacial modules have outstanding temperature coefficient of only –0.26% per degree Celsius at maximum power, which enables higher yields even under hotter climate conditions. This superior performance lasts over a long period: the panels have a very low degradation rate of less than 1.0% in the first year and no more than 0.35% per year in the following 29 years. By eliminating grid line shading losses, AIKO's ABC technology enables world-leading module efficiency and a modern, full-black aesthetic look.
All modules of AIKO's Stellar bifacial series have undergone rigorous testing and have been certified by TÜV Süd. They will come with 12-year product warranty and 30-year power output warranty.

AIKO's 'Stellar' series of bifacial products was launched globally at an event in Beijing on 20 December 2023 and will be available for orders in Europe in 2024.
The 'Stellar' series for the utility segment complements AIKO's existing 'Comet' solar modules for commercial and industrial applications and its ‘Neostar' series for residential rooftop applications.
