    Juwi and Sonnedix Will Build 86 MW Solar Park in South Africa

    Sonnedix competed in the South African Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Programme (REIPPP) and became a preferred bidder for the 86 megawatt (MW) project. The Project co-developer is the South African company Mulilo. Financial Close is targeted to be reached by July 2014, with construction work starting shortly thereafter. Commercial operation is planned for the second half of 2015. The Mulilo Sonnedix Prieska PV solar park is juwi’s largest single solar EPC project in the world, so far. “We are looking forward to supporting our partners from Sonnedix to achieve a successful project”, says Jochen Magerfleisch, COO of the juwi group.Franck Constant, President of Sonnedix Solar: “We are happy to be working with juwi, one of the world’s most experienced EPC providers in the field of renewable energies to build our solar park.     First Solar Starts Construction of Solar Power Plant in Kitakyushu-shi, Japan

    Nov. 25, 2013 - First Solar today announced that it has started construction of a solar project in Kitakyushu-shi, Japan. Generation capacity of the project is 1.4MW DC, and it will start operating in Q1 2014. Using First Solar's advanced technology CdTe thin-film PV modules, the project will provide clean and safe solar power to Japan, mitigating idle nuclear and providing energy security.

    Hanwha SolarOne to Supply Modules for 42.5MW Ontario Solar PV Farm

    Nov. 25, 2013 - Hanwha SolarOne today announced it will supply more than 170,000 HSC 60 Poly Can-Am modules to the 42.5MW Ontario Solar Photovoltaic Farm. Hanwha Solar Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hanwha SolarOne, will manufacture the modules in Ontario, Canada. Hanwha Q CELLS is building the project, owned by Fiera Axium Infrastructure, located across four sites in Ontario.

    Kuwait's First PV Plant Underpinned by Skytron Energy's Monitoring Solution

    Trinity Solar Installs 12.3MW of Solar Power on NJ Military Base

    Nov. 19, 2013 - Trinity Solar has recently completed a 12.3 megawatt residential solar installation at United Communities LLC, the private manager of the military multifamily community at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, bringing renewable power to the privatized housing community on base occupied by over 2,100 military families. Generating an estimated 13.7 million kilowatt hours of clean, affordable electricity every year, the system is projected to account for over 30 percent of the community's annual energy usage.
