    Gehrlicher Solar to Build 5.3MW Solar Park in a Water Protection Area

    On 20 March, Gehrlicher Solar AG started construction of the Neustadt-Bahn solar park. The location of this construction poses a particular challenge as it is situated in a water protection area. After extensive surveying and elaborate, detailed planning carried out by Gehrlicher Solar AG, one of the first solar parks was approved in an area of this kind in Bavaria and thus the implementation can now quickly proceed.

    GT Advanced Technologies and Powertec Energy Corporation Sign Memorandum of Understanding

    March 28, 2013 - GT Advanced Technologies and Powertec Energy Corporation announced today the execution of a memorandum of understanding (MOU), which states Powertec's intention to purchase polysilicon technology and equipment from GT for their phase 2 and 3 expansion projects. Design work for these projects has begun and Powertec currently expects to begin ordering GT equipment and technology in the second half of 2014.

    Linzer Products Reduces Energy Costs with Mitsubishi Electric Photovoltaic System

    March 27, 2013 - Linzer Products Corporation is replacing all the company's electricity needs with clean, solar power at its paint brush factory in San Fernando, California. The recent installation of a 614kW DC photovoltaic (PV) system includes 2,730 Mitsubishi Electric solar modules, installed by Sun Integration. The solar modules stretch across the factory's flat roof, transforming it into a productive space that contributes to the company's bottom line.

    SolarMax Opens a New Location in Chile

    26.03.2013 - Sputnik Engineering is continuing its international expansion by opening a new office in Chile. The Swiss company with its reliance on more than twenty years of experience in the PV inverter production enters the market in Chile, its' first location in Latin America, in response to the growing importance of the photovoltaic market in this region. The branch office located in Santiago de Chile will be headed by Fernando Sánchez, who is also General Manager of the Spanish office, in collaboration with a local commercial director. To date SolarMax is already involved in several Chilean projects to be finalized this year and in 2014.

    Solar Frontier to Restart Miyazaki No. 2 Plant, Considering New Products

    March 27, 2013 – Solar Frontier announced today that it will restart the manufacturing of solar modules at its Miyazaki No.2 Plant in Kiyotakecho, Miyazaki, Japan on July 1, 2013. Production at the 60MW nameplate capacity plant had been temporarily suspended since the end of 2012. Pending the final decision of product models to be manufactured, Solar Frontier is planning to make minor equipment modifications to enable the manufacture of new products that will be sold in Japan.

    Centrosolar Publishes Provisional Business Figures for 2012

    March 25, 2013 – The revenue and earnings figures from operations published by Centrosolar Group AG in February have been firmed up. However all business figures quoted below are still provisional. The revenue of the Centrosolar Group thus reached EUR 227 million, down approx. 22% on the previous year's total of EUR 293 million. The main factor behind the substantial drop is the continuing pressure on prices in the industry, as in the previous year. On the other hand, the volume of solar modules sold actually rose slightly.

    TerniEnergia to Build 21.7MW PV Plant in Campania

    March 25th, 2013 - TerniEnergia signed a contract with a primary European utility for the construction of a photovoltaic plant with a total capacity of 21.7MWp in the region of Campania. The contract provided the plant construction with the formula "EPC Contract" (turnkey) without solar panels supply for an amount of approximately Euro 12.45 million. The working site has been already opened and its completion is scheduled by June 30th, 2013.
