Bosch Ends Photovoltaics Activities
March 25, 2013– Bosch is to discontinue its activities in crystalline photovoltaics. Bosch's manufacture of ingots, wafers, cells, and modules will be ceased at beginning of 2014. As far as possible, individual units are to be sold quickly. All development and marketing activities are likewise to be ended. The module plant in Vénissieux, France, is to be sold. Plans to construct a manufacturing facility in Malaysia will be ended. Bosch plans to sell its shares in aleo solar AG. Bosch Solar CISTech GmbH in Brandenburg, Germany, will be continued – as before – as a development center for thin-film technology. Its future alignment will be decided at a later date. -

Sunerg Solar Raises Capacity to 100MW
March 22, 2013 - Sunerg Solar Srl announced it has opened a second production line at its manufacturing facility in Città di Castello, in the central region of Umbria, and that the global annual capacity of the company has now reached 100MW. The new line has a capacity of 70MW. The new line has been assembled with equipment from German providers Teamtechnik, Reis Robotics and NPC-Meier. -

Conergy Supplies Modules for 3.3MW Prosolia Plants in the Canaries and near Madrid
20 March 2013 – Conergy has won an order in Spain for two rooftop installations with a total capacity of 3.3 megawatts. The customer is Conergy's partner Prosolia, who acts as promoter and general contractor for both projects. The larger of the two installations has a total capacity of 1.8 megawatts spread over a surface area of around 12,000 square metres and has been built on the roof of a warehouse belonging to a well-known German logistics company in Seseña in the province of Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha, approximately 80 kilometres south of Madrid. -

Solar Frontier and Yano Industry Connect 3.3MW of Power to the Western Japan Grid
March 21, 2013 – Solar Frontier K.K. and Yano Industry Co., Ltd. have completed and connected to the grid two megawatt-scale solar power plants in Kunitomi, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan, totaling 3.3MW of power. Utilizing Solar Frontier's CIS thin-film modules, Solar Frontier will operate the 2.2MW plant and Yano Industry will operate the 1.1MW plant. -

Suntech Announces Petition of Insolvency and Restructuring of Its Subsidiary Wuxi Suntech Power
March 20, 2013 - Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. today announced that on March 18, 2013, a group of eight Chinese banks filed a petition for insolvency and restructuring of its Chinese subsidiary Wuxi Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. ("Wuxi Suntech") in the Wuxi Municipal Intermediate People's Court in Jiangsu Province, China. Wuxi Suntech today notified the Court that it will not file an objection against the petition. The Company expects that the Court will decide whether or not to accept the petition in the next few days.
