    Germany AEG Is Executing Two 400MW, 50MW Solar Energy Projects

    February 25, 2013 - Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that German company AEG is executing 400MW and50 MW solar energy projects in Choolistan and investing Rs.100 billion in these projects which is an excellent gift of PML-N government to the people of Pakistan and Punjab. He said that 50MW project will start generating electricity in June 2013 whereas 400MW project will also be completed within a year.

    Chinese Panel Manufacturers – 1.6GWp of 2012 Stock Unsold

    2012 was a year marked by huge production capacity surpluses and big price cuts in the solar industry.  A new survey by solar market research company ENF Solar shows that Chinese panel manufacturers have 1.6GWp of crystalline panels that were produced in 2012 but are still sitting unsold in warehouses.

    Neoenergia and Odebrecht Energia Start Construction of Solar Plant in Brazil

    Feb 19, 02, 2013 - Neoenergia and Odebrecht Energia began the deployment of the solar power plant at the Arena Pernambuco soccer stadium, a project that is part of the Research and Development (R&D) program of the three distributors of the Neoenergia Group; Celpe (state of Pernambuco), Coelba (state of Bahia) and Cosern (state of Rio Grande do Norte). With 1MWp of installed capacity, equivalent to the average consumption of 6000 Brazilians, the solar plant will cost about 10 million Brazilian Reals, being 9 million Brazilian Reals invested by Neoenergia, through the R&D stategy project of Aneel, and 1.2 million Brazilian Reals invested by Odebrecht Energia, with completion scheduled for June 2013.

    ReneSola's Solar Modules Obtain UL Certification for 600V and 1000V Systems in the USA

    Feb. 21, 2013 - ReneSola Ltd today announced its 72-cell polysilicon modules have been listed by UL ("Underwriters Laboratories") as meeting required standards for use in PV systems up to 1,000 volts. At the same time, the Company's 60-cell and 72-cell modules have been listed by UL as meeting required standards for use in PV systems up to 600 volts.

    Globeleq Celebrates South African Renewable Projects' Construction

    Feb. 21, 2013 - Globeleq Generation Limited (Globeleq) celebrated the official start of construction of three renewable energy projects in South Africa during February. The projects include the 138MW wind farm at Jeffreys Bay on the Eastern Cape and 2 x 50MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) facilities located in the Northern Cape. All projects are expected to be operational in mid 2014.

    juwi Buils 7MW Solar Park near Rustenburg

    19. February  2013 - This is the event juwi Renewable Energies (Pty) Ltd contracted by Rustmo 1 Solar Farm (Pty) Ltd (RF), which includes a previously disadvantaged community of Rustenburg, have all been waiting for: Construction works on juwi's first South African engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project officially kicked off. Located a few kilometres south-east of the historic mining town, the seven megawatt solar park is also the first in the North West Province. The free-field installation will not only provide clean and sustainable electricity to over ten thousand households, it will additionally boost the local economy. The project directly involves more than 200 people during engineering and construction phase, as well as some operational jobs for the entire lifetime of the plant (more than 20 years). The owners of the solar park are Momentous Technologies, Momentous Solar Farm, Momentous Foundation and Evolution One Fund. The project's local content is more than 40 percent.

    JA Solar Announces Preliminary Unaudited Shipment Results for 2012 Q4
