    Vivint Solar Closes $811 Million of New Financing

    Vivint Solar, Inc. announced the closing and funding of $811 million aggregate principal amount of debt financing comprised of two separate transactions. The first is a capital markets issuance by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Vivint Solar Financing V, LLC, of $466 million aggregate principal amount of Solar Asset Backed Notes, Series 2018-1 (issued in two classes – $400 million Series 2018-1 Class A Notes and $66 million Series 2018-1 Class B Notes). The offering was upsized from the original offering size of $355 million to become the largest securitization of residential solar power purchase agreements and leases to date. Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC and Citigroup Global Markets, Inc. acted as joint bookrunners and co-structuring agents and Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, Inc. acted as co-managers for the issuance of the Series 2018-1 Notes.

    Fortum to Sell Share of 185MW Indian Solar Portfolio

    Fortum has signed an agreement to sell a 54% share of its solar power company operating four solar power plants in India to UK Climate Investments (40%) and Elite Alfred Berg (14%). Elite Alfred Berg has the option to buy up to an additional 16% from Fortum. The total capacity of this portfolio is 185MW. In this partnership, Fortum will retain a significant minority ownership in the solar power company and continue to provide operation and maintenance services based on a long-term agreement.

    Azure Power Wins 75MW Solar Power Project in Northeast India

    Azure Power announced that it has won the 75MWs solar power project in the North Eastern region of India. Azure Power will sign a 25 year Power Purchase Agreement with Assam Power Distribution Company Limited at a weighted average tariff of INR 3.37 (~US cents 5.2) per kWh. The project will be developed by Azure Power outside a solar park and is expected to be commissioned in 2019.
